and then he fell into the pool, but I pulled him out.

We've entertained here at home two days in a row, and while it was fun both days, I am exhausted. I don't think I will do that again soon. Mr. kenju (like most men, I fear) has no idea how much time and energy it takes to get ready for people who are coming for dinner. He cleans the grill, takes a shower and shaves and puts clothes on - and I do all the rest. Now don't get me wrong, I love having people over and most of the time it is enjoyable to get ready for it and enjoyable while they are here, but two days in a row? Never again.

On my way home from the grocery store this morning, I saw four deer in a neighbor's yard. I wish they'd stay in my yard all the time instead of moving, but I guess they have to move around to find enough to eat. I took two photos, but I was too far away for them to show up.

Thunder and lightning have started, so I'll close - and catch you tomorrow. Hope you had a great Memorial Day.

People here near the moor don't like deer visiting because they eat all the plants.
One day's entertaining is enough for a wee while - unless it's family - I think:)
It's universal. I have a friend who worked in the morning on Thanksgiving. She got up early and prepped the turkey. Her husband put it in the already preheated oven at the time she told him to. She went home and did everything else. Guess who took credit for cookong dinner?
Ohhhh, you are so right about men and what they know about entertaining! If all I had to do was show up I'd entertain every day of the year! :)
Even one day of entertaining kills me. I hope you didn't serve frog legs! Or vension?
Two day parties are great, just make sure they are at someone elses house next time. Do too good a job and they make your place the regular spot. Next time tell Mr. Kenju that you have the grill covered and let him do the rest. That would work like letting men have the first baby.
Very nice froggy pic!
We've been having a lot of out of town guests lately, and it does take a lot of time and energy keeping everyone entertained. I sure do like my peace and quiet.
Entertaining is more of a chore when you are out of the routine for doing so. I miss the entertaining these days, since I have nobody near at hand to do it for.
I knew you loved the deer but had no idea how greedy you were about them. You don't even want them to visit your neighbors?
We had a tree frog on the back door yesterday.... I tried to get some pictures without him jumping into the house.
Oh, we saw some deer here on the other side of our preserve... that makes deer, raccoon, beaver, fox, a snake, mallard ducks and Canada geese walking across the area. Another reason to plant deer resistant plants.
We really miss the deer that used to make a nightly saunter through our back yard. I did see a big bear walk through early in May and we usually see a moose at least once during the early summer. Still miss the deer, though.
LOVE that dear Froggy, Judy...I'm glad you were able to save him.
I don't know how you did two days in a row--You are AMAZING, Judy, truly....! One day--wth lots of help--is pretty overwhelming for me. So I cannot imagine entertaining two days in a row, anymore.....!
I hardly ever entertain like I used to. It is utterly exhausting--and I know what you mean about the men. I do have friends, however, who work as a 100% team.
Liked your frog and hearing about your deer.
