Fabulous Electron Microscope Photography

Erythrocytes, otherwise known as red blood cells. They remind me of Cheerios!

A human egg with 2 coronal cells attached (color enhanced). The egg is coated with the zona pellucida.

Nasal cavity cilia. That looks like Q-Tips to me....LOL

A blood clot with a leukocyte or white blood cell.

A six-day-old human embryo, attaching to the wall of the uterus.

Human lung tissue, showing normal alveoli.

A lung cancer cell. It reminds me of seashells with barnacles attached.

A human egg with sperm (color enhanced) looking for a way in through the zona pellucida!

Have regular haircuts - or you'll have split ends like this!!

Taste buds on the tongue.

Tooth plaque.....EW. This is the best reason to brush and floss I've ever seen!

Oh, that last one is GROSS. But they all really look like artwork don't they?

Those are fantastic!

Now I know why it feels like you have little socks on your teeth then you wake up in the morning--plaque looks like knit fibre, doesn't it?

Those are such beautiful images. Wouldn't it be great if we could make our eyes see the world like that whenever we wanted to?

Fascinating! Without the titles, they look like 3D works of art!

This is really amazing to see...I'm fascinated actually. It's not every day you get to see these things....nor maybe would I want to....but I find it really interesting. Thanks Judy.
