Halloween + More Maxine

EDIT: If you get an email from me asking you to join a group called jhoos - don't open it. I got an email from them, opened it and now they are sending requests in my name to many others. It is a scam! Please don't open any email you get with that name.

Not sure how the fox figures into Halloween, but he's too cute to move - so I'm letting him share the table with my papier mache cat, a ceramic pumpkin, the pumpkin/tree stump candle holder, a frog (which you can't see) and our 44 year old Halloween card (sent to my son when he was a baby). Nothing fancy, but it sets the mood.

A man named Tom Clark started making gnomes many years ago. I first saw him at a Christmas show here in Raleigh in the 70's and bought a small statuette known as Patrick. Somewhere along the way, I acquired Wizard. His froggy sits in front and there's a mushroom on the back (you can see it peeking out on the right).

Witchipoo is papier mache also, and proudly rides her broom. I think she stole those red shoes from Dorothy!

Witch Hazel is another of Tom Clark's creations. I just love her face; she looks too pleasant to be a witch, doesn't she? Mr. kenju would probably say they can fool you!

Here's Wizard in his place, along with some pumpkins, gourds, pears and Indian corn. I suppose I should change those candles and put orange ones there.

And now for some more Maxine cartoons. We can't get enough of her, can we?

haha, I like the cartoon about gathering nuts. Cute!

I like your Halloween decor. Each piece has it's own rustic flair. It's nice to celebrate such holidays.

This is a nice post for the holidays. The cartoon about the nut gathering is really clever and cute.

You had asked me...

I loaded it on the computers myself. Put it on two newer HPs. No problems at all. Went smooth as silk.

Dear Judy ~~ Just a note to wish you a very Happy Birthday for Friday 30th and many many happy returns. Hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy your special day.
I liked your Halloween post. We don't do it over here. Maybe we are
just lazy. I hope you and Mr Kenju are keeping well and enjoying life.
Again Happy Birthday. Love, Merle.

I ALWAYS love looking at personal decor Judy...and you have some lovely Halloween pieces in your house....and you have it displayed; good for you. I put my stuff out this year too...just some pumpkins and things out on the fireplace. I don't always do it anymore, but this year I did.

Love the Maxine cartoons....as always. Happy Halloween to you sweetie.

What really neat decorations you have. That black cat is something else and just love Witch Hazel. She looks to nice to be a witch.
Thanks for the warning.
Have to go with raking or moving with Maxine. Too funny.

I did get the e-mail but just looked at it and deleted it. I don't even like Facebook and I am on there- that is enough.

I love your post. I was wondering the other day where my Kitchen Witch went to. I used to have her up all year around. I can't go downstairs. Scary things down there. Oh well.

Thanks for the warning and the laughs.

Love your decorations....I rarely decorate for any holiday and last year we skipped Christmas altogether...we were feeling quite sorry for ourselves being all alone.....as for those leaves of fall....I just don't even bother with them anymore. I'll mow them in spring and they will become mulch for the lawn..I'm guessing, because I know nothing about mulch.

I got the email but deleted it because I don't take part in all those facebook, my space, twitter thingies. I'm glad I did. I wondered why 'you' were sending any such, now we know.

DH and the dog saw a real fox today.

Back when those gnomes were so special, one of my nurse friends and her husband had a large collection of them. They got a divorce and how to divide the gnomes, or who would get the collection was the biggest issue of the divorce. I think she got her mother-in-law in the agreement. I jest, but I knew somebody who got his children and his mother-in-law (to take care of them) in the custody suit.

I love your decorations. I didn't even get out my witch and pumpkin this year. I'm not even sure where they are.

Three of my neighbors have disappeared - I wish. Send those nut gathering squirrels over to my street. :-)

Oh...LOVE your gnomes! I've gotten to meet Tom Clark a few times when he was in Georgia for signings...got several of our pieces signed back them. So neat seeing yours! I do indeed think that sneaky witch has Dorothy's shiny red shoes! :-) Your vignettes are soooo pretty...just beautiful! Thanks for the fall tour...loved it! :-)
Susan
P.S. Mr. Fox definitely needs to stay! :-)

You must have a room where you keep all your decorations. I should feel guilty - but i don't. Thanks for the heads up. I delete almost before I read anything.

This is attractively fascinating. Wish I could convince a friend who delights in creating holiday decorations and settings in her home to use computer, and see these. Maybe I'll print them out to show her next week when we meet again.
