Golden Oldies

If you're stuck for a Halloween costume idea - here's one! She's now 14; a junior varsity cheerleader and good student - and she's still an angel (just not so little anymore).

Can any of you sports fans tell me who the guy in the photo is? The woman in front of him is my cousin Joy and the other woman is her friend Jane. This was taken at their high school reunion.
I'll put the answer in the comments.

Senior photo. I think I looked about 35 here, right?

These are my mother's siblings, before she was born (1908), so I'm guessing this photo was taken around 1905. I think the photo would have been better had they left it black and white. I wonder if those "ties" were the fashion then, or if my grandmother used scarves to save having to buy ties?

I would act like I knew who that sports star is, but when I clicked on it to enlarge it, I got the answer.

It's great to look through the old photos and see how we looked at a younger age, our parents, and grand parents. I am planning to get the old photos from my mother so I can store them digitally and be able to share them. Maybe even fix some of the old pictures that have gotten damaged over time.

Love the pics, they are great. I thought I knew who it was and I did like Beverly clicked to enlarge and that confirmed it :)

Not sure about the ties, I have an old pic of my family from 1892, they all had long ties with big knots except my grandfather who had a bow tie :)
I like the ties in yours, it makes them look so cute!
I like your high school photo, it is so professionally done that it looks time less.

Was the answer in the photo? He just looks like Jerry West. I remember watching him play... didn't he play for the Boston Celtics for a while or was it the Lakers only.

I agree. They should leave old pictures in black and white. I'm not a fan of colorizing black and white films, either.

I wish I had old pictures of my family. These are great.

That first photo is cute. We don't celebrate Halloween, but the one outfit I can tolerate is an Angel. We all need one, or more of those in our lives, right?

You really do look older than 18 in the photo for sure - but a cutie none the less! :)

Love those scarves. I cannot imagine the CP sitting still for that so it must have been the fashion at the time.

Not looking older than 18, just worldly wise. You appear to be seeing something we can't. A serious cutie.
I saw Jerry play but while he looked familiar, I didn't recognise him. He was one of the really greats.
Those ties are something else.

I have seen boys wearing those scarf ties before but not in many years. I also had to wear a dress when my hair was long. mother thought I looked cute with the golden curls and a lacy dress. I guess I was the girl she wished for.

Great old photograph of your mom's siblings. It definitely captures an era.

I would not have recognized Jerry West, although I remember that name as one of the basketball greats.

I loved your photos today.
Thank you so much for your comment on my post about the conversation between the young eagle and the Master Eagle.
Have a wonderful day and I hoep that wherever you are, you are staying warm and dry.

Jerry West means nothing to me this side of the pond.

I love the Young Judy photo, it could in fact be me at that age!
