Not Much to See Here, Folks....

Blogger won't let me load photos tonight, and I have nothing exciting to tell you - so I guess this will be a short post.

While going through my reading list this week, I've noticed three bloggers who have decided to either cease posting altogether or are going on hiatus. I hope that no more of you decide to do that. What on earth would I do with my time? Seriously, I know I need to spend less time on the computer, but every time I contemplate that I get the creeping willies, like I used to do when I smoked and thought about giving up cigarettes. It only made me smoke more.

I have reached a total (as of today) on this blog of 994 posts and on the old one, Just Ask Judy, I had 1,017. That's a total of 2,011. Hmmm....maybe that's when I'm supposed to stop - 2011. Oh, good!! - I have at least another year to blog. You'd think I'd be all talked out by now, wouldn't you? No such luck (mr. kenju would say.)

Today's a special day for our family: My son and his bride tied the knot 20 years ago today. That's a milestone that we're all proud of and hope they will continue down the aisle together for many, many more years. They have two lovely, talented daughters, two feisty chihuahuas and a truly psycho sun conure named Sammy, who hates me with a passion. He's the only animal I wasn't ever able to connect with, and his only saving grace is that he also hates my dil's mother, so I don't feel so bad. lol

We spoke on the phone today with the couple who stood up for us at our wedding, and we reminisced about the last time we were all together, at our son's wedding. I have not seen her since then - although he was here about 10 years ago for a short visit. How time flies. It's just another example of why you shouldn't put anything off till later. You just never know when it might become impossible to do anything about it.

(Well, I guess it wasn't so short after all.)

Twenty is a great celebration. Good for them. Don't stop posting, Judy.

Last night I too had trouble uploading the 4 pics that I put up tonight. I assumed it was because of the thick clouds, since I have satellite(HuthesNet) internet. I was able to make those two posts last night with youtube clips though.

So maybe it is a blogger issue?

I know what you mean about when people stop blogging. One of my favorites has been on "hiatus" for 3 mos. now. It makes you wonder what happened.

Congratulations on so many posts! Wow!

I love reading your posts, Judy, don't you dare stop blogging!! And your flowers, however you arrange them, are just so beautiful, they rest my soul!

I had trouble uploading pictures last night, too.

I understand why people take a break from blogging. I sometimes put pressure on myself about posting when I don't "feel it." Just taking the pressure off myself, and reminding myself it's supposed to be my hobby and my fun time, and suddenly I'm back to feelin it.

I often wonder about the bloggers who just run out of ideas and energy and just stop. It is like a friend moving away and never contacting you again. I also have had bloggers pass away and that is so sad and hard to deal with. I guess I should update my blogger list.

Being a newby on the blog circuit, I have learned a lot from you in just a little bit of time. I don't know what I would do if you "retired" your keyboard. I love seeing the wedding and flower pics. You are a source of inspiration for a lot of us. Keep doin what you do and every now in then take break to reflect. Luv you darlin. Congrat to your son on his 20th anniversary.

Do bullets bounce off your chest? Are tall buildings just a slight leap? Good grief Judy, you are amazing and if there is ever an endurance contest, I want you on my team. AND, don't you dare quit.To quote a rather brilliant person, "I'd miss you terribly."

My personal hiatus is over and I think I have finally found moderation after 70 years, well
65,there wasn't much need the first 5.
Loved your "have nothing" post.

Well, I know I am a fine one to talk, but plese don't stop. I look forward to your posts. And I often think that you post almost daily, even on days when you work like a crzy woman, and I admire you for that. And , Amen to not putting things off until it is too late.

Maybe you could only do one part of show and tell, but it was so engaging that the photo wasn't missed.

I could easily live without TV and the phone, but I'd be miserable without the internet.

Now THAT is a lot of posts! Great job and don't you EVER quit- we only have another year before we become neighbors, "live"!

Congrats to the kids, too.

I'll move when I can in our games this week, trying to check in once or twice a day but cottage wireless is sketchy and there are so many wonderful distractions.
Take care. xoxoxo (Oh. I think it was supposed to read: Charlie's hit just a memory...;-)

Hi, Judy,
I know I blog a lot less than I did. I read lots on Google Reader and don't always make it to the actual post to leave a comment.

I always enjoy seeing your photos and your everyday news.

Congratulations to your son and his bride. Twenty years is a good milestone. May they have many more.

Aww, congrats on your son's anniversary! Do keep blogging. I love your blog! Personally I think FB and Twitter have killed blogging to some extreme. I've lost some of my list to it. But who knows, maybe it'll come back again and if so, we'll all still be here.

Slacker that I am, after nearly five years of blogging, we haven't reached a thousand yet. And there are two of us working at it. I'd say you are pretty remarkable for the amount of stuff you post, and all the good humor and insight that goes with it.

Thanks for the link to sun conure. Never heard of that before. Beautiful bird. Congrats to your son and DIL.

I don't know how you keep up with everything you do. It's amazing! Twenty years is quite an accomplishment in this day and age. They must have had a good example to follow!

I've been busy... the building project is in its final throws and has entered the "slow as molasses" phase... and the "frustrated type A++++ personality" phase for my brother. He is in NYC for voice coaching until tomorrow night and then has only six days before having to go back to Europe and on to Tokyo. He REALLY wants the fan and the hot tub to be working by then.

Guilty as charged - I have been on a bit of a hiatus as life has been getting in the way.

Congratulations to your son and his wife. What a fabulous milestone :)

What a great celebration! I've been thinking a lot of the same thoughts during the time my kids were here last week to help me celebrate my birthday. It was the first time that the four of us had all been together at the same time in over 15 years and it was fabulous! Beautiful memories, so I do know just what you mean!

And there's no way I could do without my blog now -- don't stop!

Oh, and I've had trouble uploading my pics, too. Got to be a Blogger thing!

Enjoy!
