Before (but no after)

The first three photos show the right side of the garage before cleaning and sorting.

You can see what a mess I had to go through. It piles up over the winter and every spring or summer finds me sorting out and throwing away, and donating to Goodwill.

Below is the last of three loads I took to the landfill. Those boxes weren't empty either!!

There is a storage room off the garage too, and here you see it - also before cleaning. I don't know when I'll get to that one! But it sure needs it, since I can barely find what I need from it.

Storage room, from top to bottom.

I'm not sure why I am showing you these, except that I hope it will motivate me to complete the process I started last week! I've at least 5-6 hours to go.

I don't envy your task but it always feels good when the job has been completed. Keep looking forward to the reward!

We moved in to this house a little over a year ago and things are still 'somewhat' sorted. Catch me in a year or two!

Does any one keep their car in the garage these days?

I think that I am fortunate since I use my garage to house my car when it is not in use and I don't have a store room to fill with all my clutter.

Every now and then I tell myself that I am emigrating and decide the items that I do not wish to take with me - they are then passed on to others or to the recycling centre.

Once you get going on it, it should be easier to be motivated on it. Plus, think of how relieved you'll be when it's over!

It always seems like "starting" the project is the hardest part. Once underway, it becomes a challenge. Then completion allows satisfaction. Good job Kenju!

I hate seeing the 'mess' of others because it is always so much nicer than my own.

It has been 6 hours since you posted so you should be done.LOL
That was a lot of "stuff."
My shed needs the same treatment. It is just that "starting" thing. Maybe when it is cooler???

I don't have a garage; just a carport and I am not allowed to store anything in it. Otherwise, I am sure it would be full of junk. My storage room is so full that I can't get in it. The last think put in it was my walker. I hope I never need it again, but I'm afraid to give it away. Maybe those Christmas ornaments need to go.

I have a couple of closets that look like that storage room.

Moving really helps you get this together... though I don't really recommend anything that drastic!! Been there and done it.... too many times in the last five years.

Well, I have to say your unsorted looks a little like our sorted!!;)

How do we all manage to collect so much stuff??

Is this contagious. So many people are doing this (and posting about it). Me included.
