Sleep eludes me. (When I first typed that, it said "Speel edules me.")

I'm so tired, but I cannot get to sleep. I worked 9 1/2 hours today; helping to deliver and set-up 2 weddings, one of which was an hour away. It was "blue blazes" hot today, and I was (as always) perpetually thirsty. I drank 2 small diet cokes, 1 bottle of water, 1 large caffeine-free diet coke and 3 (count 'em) 3 glasses of iced tea at lunch time. I made the remark that I would be lucky to go to sleep by 3am. Little did I know how very prophetic that statement would be. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut - no drinking of anything but water and no prophesies of the self-fulfilling type!

I was going to post all the photos from the wedding, but they are not cooperating. Perhaps tomorrow they will. I have a rather confusing system for doing my photos. I download (or is it upload ?) them to the computer, and then I open Picasa, the photo program I prefer. Picasa automatically picks up the photos and then I can crop, lighten, etc. to my heart's content. But I don't like to post directly from Picasa, so I email the enhanced photos to myself, and then copy them to my hard drive again. I am having trouble doing that part tonight; I keep getting a message saying that they cannot find the file (which is total crap - but how do I tell the computer that?) I know it is crap because I have been doing my photos that way for at least 3 years now. Why it suddenly decided that I couldn't do it that way, I don't know, but I don't much like it.

When I got home last night at 7:20 pm, I was too exhausted to get on the computer (believe it or not). I ate the pizza that my sweet daughter bought for me and got into my recliner to relax. We watched a series of shows on Discovery about our planet, (fascinating stuff there about the composition of the core of the earth!) and I dozed a little during the 3 hours I was lying there. But only a little, and I wasn't really asleep - just barely above the threshold of consciousness. Near 11pm, I got up and got ready for bed (after doing email, etc.) and I read for 30 minutes and turned out the light. One hour later, I was still lying there trying to doze off - but no such luck. So I gave up and got on the computer again. It's 3:36 a.m. I'm gonna need a really good nap tomorrow!!

I hope you get some sleep Judy...I know how hard it is to get to sleepo even though one is so very tired....!
Have you ever tried "save as" from Picassa to your computer after you have done what you want with the pictures? Just a thought, my dear.

Sleep ... sleep ... go to sleep. You just caused me to look at the clock and realize I should go to bed.

Try to slow down and let your body and mind rest.

We will wait to see the wonderful photos.

I use the 'save as' method.

Oh that awful feeling of almost floating you are so tired but sleep won't come.
I hope right now you are snoring big time.
Please get rest and don't work so hard. I will post this very quietly.

Well, as you know, I was up at the same time!! It's usually my mind that keeps me awake...not anything I ate or drank.
I do the same things with my photos...emailing them to me, etc.

Ugh! I hate that! I also do my photos the exact same way you do yours. Water, Judy, WATER! I feel for you, totally.

Not sleeping when you're tired can just about drive you to distraction. Those Diet Cokes will do it every time. I am guilty of doing the same thing...well, not working too hard, but sleep often eludes me. I've been trying to rememdy that by going to bed at a normal bedtime, instead of 1 or so.

I hope you have success with your photos. I always enjoy seeing them.

I like 'Speel edules me.' It has a ring to it.

Oh Judy....you just need some major sleep sweetie. You have really been working hard. I don't think you should worry about pictures or anythng else right now but getting rest before something crashes...and I'm not talking about your computer. Sweet dreams Miss Judy....

Although I don't - couldn't - work as hard as you do, these last few days have been physically exhausting and last night I was so tired I just didn't know what to do with myself.
You must feel like that often. I think we both should try to avoid getting exhausted. You must look after yourself Judy.

Judy I've just re- read about the photos. I do as you do but then post from Picasa to Dashboard. I don't understand why you e- mail them?

I would love to hear more about Picassa. I have so many pics on my one computer, I can't imagine what would happen. As I understand it, the program does grab every single pic off your computer. If you ever get time to post about it, I'm sure it would be interesting.

I bet you don't have to email them and you could find them through "my computer." Once you right click one and look at its properties and see what directories it lies in you might be able to got in "the back way" and fetch them...if that makes sense!

I know I bypass my camera software and just work with the pics. I create a new (temporary) folder for only what I'm working on, and then I later "move them" to another bigger folder in my pictures...which in your case I guess picassa would then grab them. That's really confusing! You would think you could drag and drop them or something.

See why I haven't taken the plunge to picassa yet!
