My Roses + a Bouquet

My rambling roses are beginning to bloom now, and the blossoms are so heavy that I have to hold them up to see their faces. I added some shadow to this one, since (as usual) I got too close to it and washed it out. That changed the color a little. The one below has the true color.

When the whole bush is in bloom, it's a glorious sight!

This is the only photo I was able to get at work today; we were too busy to stop and take pictures. I got too close to this bouquet too, and the flash washed it out. Mel had just misted it, and the little dots of water reflected the light and look white here. The three peonies in the center are a deep coral color and smell heavenly; like nothing else in the world. I hope to be able to get some better photos tomorrow, but since we have four weddings to deliver and set-up, I may not have much time.

What beautiful roses! The middle picture is stunning. Roses are my favorite flowers. I had so many rose bushes at my last house that I had a bouquet all summer. I miss that, but don't miss the care they take.

That is a really lovely rose. Do you know the name? My father grew one some years ago that seemed similar, but I have forgotten what his was called. I think it was nearly thornless, which as it was right by where he got out of his car, was a Very Good Thing!

Our climbing roses have three sweetest little buds now. I expect theyw ill come out soon.

When I was a child we moved a lot but no matter where we lived we had at least one rose bush outside our front door. Mother would make us simple corsages every Mother's Day to wear to church. Your pictures make me miss having roses but more than that, they make me miss my Mother:) Hope you have a nice Mother's Day Judy.

Beautiful roses, a favorite of mine also.
Hope you get some rest soon but it doesn't look like it.
Perhaps you will be able to celebrate part of Mother's day anyway.

Happy Mother's day Judy.
