K is for Kenju ~ Art Class Projects

Dated 1957. I think I might use it as my icon.

Dated March 1962. This was a pencil sketch that was supposed to be the study for an oil painting, but I never did the painting.

Dated 1959. I was never good with water color.

Dated 1958.

I like the 'K' you made and I think it would look good on my blog, too, sis!!!! LOL

And I think you did well with watercolors.

This is really a very cool post!!! How nice that you still have all this stuff.

Nonsense! The water colour is so pretty and the second has a touch of the Picasso's.
If you ever retire the whole art world is open to you. You gifted girl you!

The K gets my vote for icon. Besides that was a good year, (I graduated from high school).
I so envy those with artistic talent. Hope you are still picking up the brushes.

How can you think you are not a talented painter when upon looking at your water color I can readily recognize : A day lily,Carnation, pansy, marigold, tulip, lily of the valley, daffodil, and a rose.

I do not recognize the blue flowers but not because the drawings of them are not good but because I simply don't know those flowers....

Were you in elementary school or junior high at the time? These are excellent and the "K" would make a nice logo plus the flowers are complete and beautiful and definitely frame able! Do you continue to pursue your artistic endeavors aside from floral arrangements? (Which are brilliant in their own right!)

Nancy, what I meant was that my water colors always look muddy to me.

I think you were just born to incorporate flowers into your creative side! Those are lovely.

Hi Judy :)

Beautiful artwork, especially the K!

Yes, Alex looks young and in fact most people think he's 14, but he'll be 19 this month... the curse of our our family until you get to be in your late 30s and people stop asking for your ID LOL I sure miss those days :)

I love the "K" and the watercolor flowers are lovely though looking more like an oil than watercolor. I tend to use watercolors too thick as well---it's something I really need to address.

You arrange flowers.
You were a fabulous cytotech.
You are a great mom.
You are a wonderful wife.
You are a creative collector.
And now you PAINT too?
How did you end up with so much talent... and the rest of us with so little? ;)

I loved your sharing. You are one talented lady. Wish I could paint. I just dig in the dirt.

Wow. I love the K and the watercolors. I wish I had some of my old art. I got NOTHING but one pink ponytail diary written when I was 10. Our family home was burnt via eminent domain and I left everything there.

I see the resemblance to the aerial view of the field in my post. How fun to dig up old art, which I do now and then too.
