On Saturday, we went to Chapel Hill with our daughter, and had lunch at The Weathervane, which is located adjacent to Southern Seasons, a premier specialty foods store. Below are some photos from the day. You'll be drooling......

The only thing I bought: dark chocolate and salt - my favorite combination! It was almost as good as chocolate bars together with hot, salty, buttered popcorn. There now; are you drooling? Or are you already surfeit?
At lunch, I forgot to photograph our food. I had a cup of chili and a half-sandwich of fried green tomatoes. It was served on the best rustic, whole-grain bread with some sort of aioli sauce. It was very tasty. You should try it sometime!

That chocolate sounds interesting. I am sure it would suit being grated on a salad.
Stop it! I've only just had breakfast and I'm hungry again just looking at those photos! What a wonderful place to go - and that stripey crockery is fabulous!
Well I have got to say you can add my name to the "Love The Rooster China" list.
It's nice to have a special treat every now and again. It all looks wonderful! Nom, nom, nom. I'll have to visit after Easter - I gave up bread for Lent. :-)

What a wonderful store...especially the chocolate!
This is not half of it; I didn't go into the wine section, or the flowers, or specialty sauces,condiments, snacks and coffees. Their tea section alone is bigger than you would expect.
Salt and chocolate sounds wonderful. Am trying to get up courage to order chocolate covered potato chips.
That store looks like a place to put a hurtin' on your credit card. Thanks for the virtual trip.

Look at all that cheese. Here in the South of France, we get great cheese cheap.
But the best cheese I had recently was Somerset Cave Aged Cheddar.
I nearly died of pleasure.
This all looks GORGEOUS! And yes, my mouth is warering and drool is running down my chin---CHOCOLATE! That is what really got me, Judy! LOL!
I could spend all day in Southern Seasons, if there was one around here. I'd probably go broke doing it, too.
Te hand painted glass trays would have tempted me, but I would probably have dropped one and broke it before getting out of there.

JUDY! I'm trying to lose 10 # and now all I can think about is food and getting to that shop in Chapel Hill. I suppose I could start walking...I love the blue crab plates, the cheeses- those would be my favorites. And fried green tomatoes.
I love grainy, rustic breads and I'm always trying new recipes out to find the best kind.
I made one kind last week that had sunflower seeds in it and it was delicious!
That salty chocolate bar sounds yummy!!!!
I'd like to try those desserts FREE and sample those candy bars. I could do this as a public service... maybe my job could be quality control or something like that.
