Mixed Messages

or until they write something. I am reminded of the quizzes people make up and place on Facebook. Most of them are rife with misspellings and bad grammar. They make me scowl and yet I do them anyway.

I suspect this goes on more often than we like to think.....LOL. If you offer/promise to pray for someone, I hope you'll try to be a bit more sincere than this.

No comment......LOL (but it's a very creative cartoon!)

It seems like some churches have 4-5 different personalities; with all their different styles of worship services - there's surely something for everyone - except atheists.

That Maxine!! (But haven't we all met someone we want to say that to?)

Why don't I have any interest in doing much of anything these days? It can't be winter doldrums, since it's getting warmer and sunnier. My health is okay, so I can't blame it on illness, and my mind is about the same as always (say - maybe that's the problem.....LOL). I have so many things that need doing; starting with more wallpaper paste removal, sanding, filling holes, painting, gardening, etc., that if I don't start working on it steadily, I'll be deep into wedding season and have no time to do anything else! I need energy and motivation....what do you recommend I use for the carrot hanging in front of my nose?

A liverwurst sandwich? Must be spring lassitude. Snowed like mad here this a.m. All through rush hour. Made me want to go home and read. Toast, cherry jam, a cup of coffee, and a good book would've motivated me to turn around in a heartbeat.

I'm in the same boat and have no magic carrot (or liverwurst sandwich) to dangle. I've just read a wonderful book (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society). Loved it but it didn't motivate me. But since we have eight inches of snow in our yard instead of tulips, so I still feel entrenched in the winter doldrums.

Maxine and the plug one are terrific.
I'm amazed that you do face book as well as everything else. Not that I know the first thing about it. I just know I can't get involved in anything else.
Motivation is an elusive will o' the wisp. When all else fails I'll go in the garden and pray. I try to do this every day and sometimes my mind wanders and I'm 'gone' for ages.
Don't beat yourself up about it. Sit back and rest awhile. I don't mean to sound a know all. I know nothing:)

I've got a few of those "whores" around the house. That's a funny cartoon!

I recommend that you go with the flow and don't beat yourself up for doing nothing for a few days.

I loved the church cartoon. Our Saturday evening mass is just four people playing acoustic instruments and singing (not a full choir). I call it the "Feeling Groovy" mass. LOL.

The best motivator for me to get things done at home is to host a party and mail the invitations before I change my mind!

We're all just laying low until the sun comes out for good and lights a fire under us.

I wouldn't say this to just anybody, but I'm sitting here at the computer in my nightgown and it's 1:30 in the afternoon. It already seems too close to bedtime to go to the trouble of getting dressed!

I hope you're doing well, Judy.

Right now I have no idea but am in the same boat, so if you figure something out... please let me know... as long as it doesn't involve sticking my finger in an electric socket.... that would give you a charge of sorts now, wouldn't it? :)

I suffer from the same lack of motivation. My carrot is to promise myself to do certain things and then I can blog, or go out to take pictures, or whatever. It's a constant struggle. I just want to do what I want to do, not what I have to do.

Your VERY FIRST saying (about the speed of light vs. sound) is one I can really relate to. Too, too true! (Sad, but . . .)

How about a well earned break once it's all done? Somewhere nice :)

I agree totally on the Fb quizzes. In fact, if they use text speak (u r g8 for example) I won't entertain even looking at it.

Just go with the flow - knowing you Judy, you can't sit to long - relax, enjoy it and before you know it you'll be "at it."

What's not to like about doing nothing? I'm an expert at it. And just remember how busy you were when your kids were small.

Motivation? Mine is on vacation.
