Back in the late 70's or early 80's, Jeane Dixon, reknown psychic, came to Raleigh to promote her new jewelry line - based on the mood rings of the time. She was selling bracelets and other jewelry items, all with a cabochon of some sort that changed color according to your moods (or so they said.)
I took my younger daughter to the shopping mall where Jeane was going to be, and bought a bracelet (which I no longer have). We stood in line to get an autograph, and Jeane passed out the card below to all comers. The reverse is signed, as you can see. She even gave one to my daughter. Mr. kenju found them in a old book recently. I can't decipher the words written on the front of the card, but maybe one of you can.

While researching this article, I found this interesting link, on The Tecumseh Curse. It is written about here, as well.

Cannot decipher the first but it appears to be a name, another author there perhaps? I found a letter from an author friend in one of my books the other day and it does take you back.
I can't tell about the first one, but I just think it's neat you have Jeannie Dixons!
I can't read the front side...looks like an M at the beginning. Hmmm. Very cool though that you met her and have the autograph!
The first part I remember being quoted by Maggie Thatcher after she was elected as PM.
I had forgotten about Jeanne Dixon and mood rings... Wasn't that about the same time as pet rocks--we were a sorry bunch back in the 70s, weren't we!
Wow. I haven't heard that name in a while. I never met her or even saw her for that matter, but I had a teacher in the 8th grade that swore by every word she uttered. Which was interesting since this was a science teacher who by nature and training should be skeptical of everything.
That must've been some flashback when you ran across these.
I can't make out the writing on the front either.
What a great discovery. I bet that bought back so many memories!
I'm afraid I can't help decipher the front writing either though I suspect it's a name.
Maybe the inscription is Megan Magner or Magnes. Or it could be Meyn Mayner. Who knows. Penmanship is not the person's strong suit.
Didt Jean Dixon predict the next president and was wrong, or is my memory elf playing with me again?
???? on the first one.....i had a mood ring...it was always black.
Everybody had to have a mood ring, or just die! ...and just to show off your mood it was sometimes necessary to run hot water over it, or stick it in the freezer [while no one was looking of course]
Jennie Dixon was on mom's list of charlatans, but I thought she was cool.
I stared at that scribble on the first page, and I can't tell what it is.
I had a mood ring when I was a kid. It probably wasn't one of her line, but I remember I thought it was cool.
I have that prayer hanging in my cubey :) I read a book by Jeane Dixon years ago and in it she told a story about being in a meeting with some world leaders (or something like that.. it was a long time ago) where a dove flew in through an open window. I think of that story whenever I see doves.
Nope, I can't decipher it either but it does look like a name of some kind. Big help I am, huh?
This prayer from St. Francis of Assisi is one of my favorites... it has been put to music and was sung at my wedding instead of the traditional Lord's Prayer. I still love the prayer...
