Links, Odds and Ends, Photos

I titled this one "Waiting for Lunch". The gulls at Myrtle Beach are gutsy. They fly right up to anyone who is eating and wait for a handout. If you are stupid enough to feed the first few (and I was), soon you have 30-40 of them, standing none too patiently and getting into noisy squabbles over the best place to wait for the next morsel. We decided it was best to ignore them all and hope they'd go away.

I suppose if you're a cycle enthusiast, making models of them out of old watch parts makes perfect sense. They are rather clever, aren't they? An old school friend of mine sent these to me, but he didn't send any info about the maker.

Go here to read the oddest book titles.........and then add some of your own in my comments.

I have a brooch made by a Qu├ębec jewelry artist from old watch parts that is one of my favourites.
Thanks for reminding me to start wearing it again.

Here in the S West we are discouraged from feeding the gulls . Further down into Cornwall they will snatch out of your hands. Not nice!

Yeah, gulls cna be like that! I used to see tourists getting mugged by them all the time when I lived next to the sea! I remember once, I was sat eating by fish and chips on the quay side and one got upset at being ignored by me and started to pull at my shoe laces.

I love that yellow cycle!

Some of those book titles are really something. I'll have to think about what I've read in the past and come up with something.

I saw a seagull with a sizable piece of steak fresh of the bar-b-que being chased by a very irate camper at the seaside once.

THose Mortorcycle Sculpture's are just fantastic! True works of ART!
And they cannot be easy to make because the watch parts are pretty small...!

LOVE the picture of The Gulls....! I'm such a sucker for feeding the Birds that I would probably bring a HUGE bag of Birdseed....lol!

Those birds remind me of the squirrels at Marshall University. They were so bold, they'd try to shake you down for money!
