Quotes of Note, Plus

Bumper stickers are eschewed on my car, but I saw one today that might deserve a counter-attack:

Mine will be:

Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength.

It is easier to lead men to combat, stirring up their passion, than to restrain them and direct them toward the patient labors of peace.

These are really good! Thanks for sharing them here. The one about combat/peace really got to me. Sad but true.

Judy,
I like Eric Hoffer's quote. I think I remember reading a book of his thoughts about 40 years ago, if I remember correctly he was a ordinary working man, doing dock manual labor when he came out with all his thought gems.

I like Ike's (get it?) quote too.

Pithy quotes. I'd just decided to do a quote day but promise not to over- lap.
I have just been sitting here reading the post about Mr Kenju to MTL. When I had finished he nodded his head in agreement and I tried to use the moment to have a chat about the cakes and biscuits and cheeses and fruit cake - all the stuff his Scottish forebears lived on and suggested moderation. But we are in denial and any 'nagging' causes stress so is counter productive.
Nothing like the difficulties you have had this past year but when I feel my patience flagging I shall think of you as a great example to us all. You are a star.

I just checked my junk box and the best I can find is Larry Noodle...
I do enjoy the quotes- Hoffer's is my favorite, too.

What I REALLY enjoyed were the posts on meeting up with your fellow bloggers and the wonderful pictures. I want to look as cool and lovely as you when I catch up in a couple years. :-)

I learned about our impatient young while trying to prepare meals for the grandchildren and explaining this was not a fast food restaurant!

Patience is certainly lacking in this age of instant gratification.

Great quotes!

I love your bumper sticker of the McCain Mutiny. I will have to remember it. Maybe it should be forwarded to the Obama site.

The quotes were great, also.

If only the leaders of all the countries in the world would believe in this.

Hi Judy and thanks for the quotes.

I read your 8/17 post and saw myself a year ago. Thanks for the advice.

Cheers.

Any talk or quotes about patience always makes me think of my grandpa who was VERY impatient.
He once turned to my dad and said, "Son, you really need to learn to have patience."
We all cracked up then, and we still crack up over that.

I am not a fan of bumper stickers either.

It's good to be here again!! I've got to scroll down and read some more...
