Each large bear takes about 200, 000 pine needles! They are made by Richard Carpenter. The email I got these in gives an address for him: firstname.lastname@example.org
He gathers, sorts, washes, trims and hand-weaves the pine needles, and it takes him over eight months to make the life-sized bear.
Richard also carves antlers; whatever he can find: moose, deer, elk, horn, wood, ivory and more. I think his work is very interesting.
