Look What I Found!

I had begun to think that all the frogs had left our area due to the drought, but last night, I caught this one climbing up my kitchen window. He was about 2" long. I love watching them climb with their "suction cup feet"! There was a time when I thought we'd call our house "Frog Hollow" because all summer long they were singing and laying eggs in the pool. If you went out to swim in the dark, you'd have to watch where you stepped because you were sure to mash one or two nearly everywhere you went. Little by little the frogs went away and almost completely disappeared. I was glad to see that at least a few have returned.

Do you have a passion for purple? I loved this color combination in an arrangement I made last week for a rehearsal dinner. It has roses, stock, veronica, boronia and trachellium.

This is the entrance to the barn where the wedding was held last weekend. Isn't that a fancy barn?! That's Rhonda up on the balcony, getting wind-blown and hot-feet. We had to take off our shoes to walk through the living quarters and out to the balcony, which was redwood. It had been baking in the sun all morning, and when we stepped out there barefooted, our tootsies got burnt right away. I was checking the garland we had just hung. Later we evened it out and studded it with hydrangeas, like the garland on the staircase I showed you yesterday, but I didn't get a photo of the finished garland. The whole front yard area was set with cocktail tables and a bar, and the trees were hung with chandeliers. I didn't get a photo of those either - too busy!
I am working the rest of the week, so visits and posting may be sporadic.

Love that beautiful purple flower arrangement! Inviting entrance to the wedding site. Am glad to hear the frogs are coming back -- frankly, I would think their disappearance is a bit like the canaries in the mines, which means the frogs demise would not bode well for man.

I love thet purple arrangement!

Judy you need to add a scarf for the back of your neck to the sunhat and also a pair of travel slippers of the fold up variety for occasions like this one.

I wish we had frogs that would do that!
But nooo! we only have roaches that do that.
Great pictures Judy.

I've loved these posts. I hope your sunburn is gone.

I love frogs, and I'm always happy to see them. However, one night, I had gone to bed. The house was locked up tighter than a drum, and I heard something fall to the floor in my bedroom. I got up and went into the bathroom. Why the bathroom? I odn't know.

I turned on the light and saw a dark blog on the bedroom wall. When I put my glasses on, I saw this huge tree frog. He had jumped up on the windowsill and knocked off some items.

I found a box, put him in it, and put him outside. I would have left him, but I didn't want him jumping on me.

Add a little more green and put some eyes on that frog belly and you have Dr. Seuss' Grinch.

Yes, passion for purple but also passion for rock barns. They are hard to find and I love to draw them.

It took a while for me to figure it out!
