Billy Packer

ought to be covered in honey and hung from a tree with a nest of fire ants nearby.

Yes, UNC played poorly (especially in the first half) and yes, Kansas was on fire - but - for him to declare....."This game is over" before the first half was half gone is just WRONG! UNC made a valiant effort to come back from being down almost 30 points and they were able to cut it to just six before Kansas found their legs and got a second wind. Packer should be sent packing!
Edit: Packer is a sports announcer well-known in these parts, especially in the Atlantic Coast Conference area, and now with the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Would it be true Judy, to say you are not a fan of Mr Packer?

Michele suggested I drop by to agree that "its not over till its over", although I'm not in favour of stringing people from trees.

Best regards, rashbre

Judy,

I think if you look at the writing in the lower left corner of the photo of Billy Packer you will agree; THAT SAYS IT ALL!!!

Dear Gawd...I hope his wife doesn't dress him.....maybe his boyfriend does?

Nancy, you are SO right!! Dungtongue it is!

Star: I found that photo on go*gle images, and I think it was photoshopped, since Packer is not known to dress like that (most of the time).....LOL

Matty, I think he'd be horrified to see that photo, but maybe not. I've never heard his status mentioned, so I don't know if he is married, single, divorced or gay.

just another fine example of the current state of the media eh?

perhaps he should switch to political reporting?

I was at a restaurant with a group of friends doing trivia and watching the game. It did look like it was over. We left a little after the half and when I turned on the radio and got it, UNC had really pulled it out, and then...too bad.

The final game should be a good one, though.

Seems like a reasonable response to his action!

If the fat lady wasn't singing then it wasn't over and it sounds like she was still only warming her vocal cords!

EEEYEW...covered with honey and hung out for the enjoyment of fire ants. You really didn't like that guy & his comment.
I know nothing of sports, Judy, but did want to say "thanks" for the suggestion you gave me to repeat some of my 2006 blogs in lieu of getting any new ideas. I've done that a few times and the world didn't come to an end, so I guess I'll still be a blogger in good standing.

I guess it was just frustration. People get insane over ACC.

is that what he looks like? gee, I've heard him, but never seen him which is a good thing. As for the game, :( With Carolina gone, I suppose I'll watch reality TV on Monday night.

LOVE Packer's preferred party outfit. :) I hope he sees it!

It is very frustrating when the announcer writes off your team....aren't they supposed to be the numero uno supporter??

We watched the game.....couldn't believe our eyes. It was a big shocker even way up here in the land of snow. :)

I missed the game (we don't get college b-ball in Germany) but now I am actually happy I did!

I was shocked to hear him say that. Usually announcers are more diplomatic--but he turned out to be right though when the Heels had gotten to within 4 points I thought they'd take the game. Oops.

Why is he dressed that way!?

I'm SOOOOOO with ya on that one! But the photo - slightly disturbing!
