Grocery Shopping

A new supermarket opened near my house.

It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh mown hay.

In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying .

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread & cookies.

GUESS WHAT?

I don't buy toilet paper there any more.

A big thanks to everyone who read and commented on yesterday's post. This one won't top that, I'm sure, but we can't have a big winner everyday, can we? Maybe if I think hard I can come up with some more good memories for you.

Very funny! One of the grocery stores near us has the thunderstorm sound effect when the veggies are about to get to get misted. It doesn't have any of the other "special effects" you listed but I agree I would go near the toilet paper at your grocery store.

Michele sent me.

Ha! Very funny!

Yes, I was in Durham, in RTP. So super busy it wasn't even funny. Next time I'm going to have to pad my trip to meet my bloggy buddies.

An animated interactive grocery store! they havent made it north of the border unfortunately, but i think it should......

think of the other possibilities......Foster Brooks voice emanating from the whiskey section of the liquor store....Dean Martin's swooning songs near the Vermouth.

The only thing that is playing at my grocery store is the incessant piano player......live muzak. it drives me crazy, which i think is the exact opposite reaction they are trying to get at.

That is really funny. I haven't been in a store like that one.

My mother thought she had died and gone to heaven when she got a wringer washer the first time. I don't remember exactly when...probably early '50's. She said it surely beat the scrub board.
