I don't know what my cats would do if they were confronted with this spectacle.....but I suspect they would jump six feet in the air and run to get under a bed! I got this pic in an email and I don't know where it was taken.

*********

My friend who is visiting and I shopped ALL day long. We started at SRI Shoes, went to Tuesday Morning and ended up at North Hills for lunch at South and more shopping at some upscale women's shops I prefer not to give publicity to. I should say that she shopped and I looked. I am not in the habit of paying $79 for a simple T-shirt or $345 for a purse. We did run into some good sales though, so I guess all that time tramping around was worth it. I have been looking for a pair of black dress shoes that can be worn with either pants or a dress, with a low heel. I never thought I'd reach this point in my life. I have been a shoe freak for many years, and low heels with versatility never entered into my thinking! But when you get to be my age, the spiked heels and pointy toes have to give way to square toes and boxy heels. It just happens. The fact that I am a size 8.5 slim doesn't help either, since they are few and far between on sale racks. I got lucky today, though, and I am now well outfitted in suede with patent leather.

No photos were taken today, although I missed a good chance at the shoe place. There were so many odd-looking ones I could have shown you. I don't know why that didn't occur to me while I was there.....LOL

I was so exhausted after we got home that instead of checking email and reading blogs, I got into my lounging pajamas and my recliner for a while before starting dinner. You should know that my friend turned 81 on Wednesday and she wasn't nearly as tired as I was! I wish I knew her secret!

Isn't that sweet! I don't think that cat seems a bit afraid. You have inspired me for my post today. Come visit later.

What a picture! We have deer, but they've never come up to house like that.

I think your day sounds marvelous.

Judy,

I love the picture of the cat looking so calmly at the deer on his patio.

I have had a lot of cats in my time and can't think of one of those rascals that wouldn't be clawing his way up the drapes in this situation, with his fur standing straight out,and acting like his tail was on fire.....

amazing photo. my cat freaks out at squirrels across the yard, can't imagine what he'd do about the deer.

congrats on the shoes - I never find shoes I like and I hate shopping on top of that.

take lots of power naps :)

Michele sent me to say that I, too, have hard-to-fit feet and it is very rare I find shoes on sale.

I must also confess that I scrolled down a little farther and am now drooling over those pastries and petit fours! Guess I should get home to dinner now!

Judy,
I still love boxes. Small sturdy boxes that is - about like cigar boxes... they are go good for sorting small junk in.

I'm with you.
$70 for a t-shirt... there's a brand store called "LUCKY" that sells shirts of that ilk... I figured out immediately why the store was called LUCKY. Because if you can afford to pay $70 for a t-shirt, you're lucky!
