A Visit to Santaland

Edited below!
Today we visited the home of some new friends, and it can truly be called "Santaland". They said they have over 100 Santas, but I think it must be more like 300-400 altogether. I took 23 photos, plus 2 that didn't turn out well. I am showing you six of them tonight, and will post more tomorrow.

Have you ever seen so many Santas in one spot, except in a Christmas Shop? I haven't! I hope you'll enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed seeing the real thing.

No, they do not leave the santas out all year; they pack them away after January 6th and get them all out again in late November/early December. I cannot imagine the time it takes - or the storage space it requires!

Wow! I love that. Do they keep them out yearlong or just as Christmas? I have friends who really go all out at Christmas, multiple trees, whole house decked out, etc. I think it's so cool, but I'm much too lazy to put that much work into it. :-)

I am astounded at the level of detail in each and every one. I imagine the dedication that went into creating them, and can't help but wonder about how it rubs off on everyone who takes the time to visit.

Michele sent me back to be wowed by your view of your world, Judy. Hope your week gets off to a good start: I'll pop by to see what else you're sharing!

This is like a Santa Claus museum! Is the house huge? I love Santas and have a collection of my own that fills 2 shelves of a small bookcase. I can see I need to get going!

And I think I'm on top of things because I string some "Fairy lights" and decorate a small tree for my neighbors to enjoy. I have a little glass room on the side of my house and the lights and tree look beautiful at night through the glass.

I admire your friend's collection of Santas. I'm sure she puts them up as much for other people's enjoyment as her own. I know I loved looking at them. Tell her thanks!

Oh you answered my question before I even asked it. Telepathy or what?

Wow! Those are a whole lot of Santas! What a neat thing to collect.

I'm with you... the space alone required to store them would make it prohibitive for me. Wow. Quite a collection.

That's far, far too many Santas. Those stairs look dangerous! You can't trust elves too far when they're underfoot, y'know? Remember that song "Grandma got run over by a Reindeer" and be warned.

I loved looking at all the photos of the Santas. It is a wonderful collection and thank goodness someone cares so much as to keep them in such good care.

My collection of old figurines is much smaller, but sometimes I think my favorite Christmas time is spent unwrapping them and remembering Christmas past.

It's amazing how many Santas they have!!
The work it must take to place them around the house, then store them.... I'm tired just thinking about it.
Santaland indeed.
