Today's Rehearsal Dinner Pics

The buffet centerpiece. The groom's mother chose a Mexican theme, and she rented burlap tablecloths in a rust color, with red linens. The napkins were tied with raffia, and I used raffia in 5 different colors in all the arrangements, which were made of orange, yellow, red and rust colored flowers. The colorful striped cloth on the table here was also used on the head table. My buffet centerpiece holder is a wrought-iron stand which holds a shallow dish that looks like stone.

The black wrought-iron lanterns were rented by the groom's mother. Ordinarily, they hold a glass vase with an oil burner, but here, they were adapted for flowers. I scattered rose petals on the head table and on the buffet.

On some of the lanterns, I tied a green cymbidium orchid to the top. I also used leaves off my croton plant in the arrangements (they are the striped ones). Croton just screams Mexico to me, since the two times we were there, we saw it growing everywhere! There were nine table centerpieces and the main buffet for this event. I have the wedding tomorrow, but it is not fancy. They will have 12 tables, each holding 3 cylinder vases with floating candles - but no flowers.

I cannot believe how elaborate this "rehearsal" dinner was---So Very Many People....My Lordy! It's like the number of people at the Rehearsal Dinner is more than I have ever encountered, dear Judy!
What you did was MASTERFUL!! Truly Truly,Truly, so very Beautiful....! And you say there are no flowers at The Wedding???
LOL! I can't keep up! LOL!
It's almost like The Rehearsal Dinner is MORE important than The Wedding...Boy, I'd love to know the story there......!
Well, all I know is what you contributed to this special evening is SPECTACULAR!
Congrats, My Dear.....I'm anxious to see the "wedding" things....!

Those are beautiful, Judy! I wish I'd seen this yesterday. We had a mexican dinner last nite at our house and I had no centerpiece.

Like you, I'm pooped and glad the holiday is over, although we still have a gumbo dinner to do here tomorrow. Then I'm going to buy a box of eggnog and a bottle of rum, lol!

When the time comes, can you do my funeral? I hope it's a long time from now, however. I adore your floral work. You are truly an artist.
