Edit below!

Now this just may be the most apropos and my favorite gift of all time. My friend Alice (Anna's mom) gave me this coaster stone last night. It is for use in your car's cup holder, to absorb condensation. She knows me too, too well! LOL. Unfortunately, the way my cup holder is made, this stone won't stay in it.....so I am going to glue a magnet to the back and keep it on my fridge. It will be the perfect thing to shove in mr. kenju's face when he complains about turkey burgers or the number of pills he has to take.

She made the best dinner for us last night! Excellent meat loaf (which I have never been able to master), yummy mashed potatoes, corn mixed with peppers and turtle pie. I was stuffed! THANKS, Alice!
Edit: I see that some of you don't know what turtle pie is. Made of chocolate, caramel, nuts and other good stuff.....it resembles the candy named "turtles", not the animal...LOL

Um... turtle pie?
(checking)
Yep, I read that correctly.

With those ingredients, you could have made a Shepherd's Pie.

It'd take me a lot longer than a minute to put on a "I care" face, Judy. You must be a lot more interested in others than I am. Which is a good thing!

I, like shephard, am mind-boggled by turtle pie ... I once saw turtle for sale in a FOOD market in Kolkata!

I will match Mr. Kenju pill for pill: I am up to 17, plus two liquids. Do I win?

Yum. I know what turtle pie and all those other good things are that your friend brought. I wish I had been there. I like your coaster, too.

Ha! Love that coaster. I think that might be my permanent expression, though. ;)

Turtles are a favorite of mine, too, so can only imagine how tasty a turtle pie would be. Save me a piece.

In the old days, we could only get Turtles if we drove miles north to a Stuckey's. My dad would do that once a year, generally around Thanksgiving.

Turtles were better than GooGoo Clusters. Better than Moon Pies too, but those were easier to get back then. And yes, I lived kind of in the boonies.

I need one of those coasters too.

Turtles were my mom's favorites. We used to buy her plenty for Christmas to see which of her children's selections she would like the best. My BIL David always won.

That turtle pie sounds like something worth trying. I've been looking for a new dessert to try over the holidays. I think I'll look up the recipe on line and whip one up.

I've never had turtle pie, but I've had turtle cheesecake. This sounds delicious!

btw, i've never thought of putting the coaster stone in the cup holder for that reason. Boy, what a V-8 head smack idea that is. I'll try to see if ours will work in there as well.

That meal sounds so delicious! I love AC's comment about having to go to Stuckey's to get turtles. I remember that.

If I were in NC, I would bring you a meal, or have you over!

I love friends who give perfect gifts and serve comfort food for dinner. Life's simple pleasures (I'm with you on the meatloaf, I'm a pretty good cook but have never mastered meatloaf).
