All Pink ~ All the Time ~ Head to Toe

My youngest granddaughter, who just turned eight this month, has been a big fan of the color pink ever since she was two. If you give her a choice of clothing to wear - it had better be pink! If you give her a present, it should be pink! The old crocs were doffed quickly in favor of the new (and surprisingly comfortable) monster slippers, when she received them from her cousins at our family celebration on Christmas Eve. This child will relent and wear purple from time to time, and maybe magenta will make the cut once in a while, but if you want a gift to be a big hit with her - make it PINK!

Nyssa has a pair of green "dinosaur" slippers that her uncle gave her when she was about seven. They are oversized and she can still fit her size eights into them... the best part (for her) is the battery powered sound effects. That ROAR as she tramps around still brings out the giggles! Any sound effects with these.

We are very glad that Boo hasn't yet developed the "only pink" attitude that so many of her friends have --- especially since she looks soooooo much better in purple:-)

Now that is impressive...a girl that is consistent on what she likes!!!!

I love pink. My girls love pink. There is a movement going on where some mothers are refusing to buy anything pink and boycotting companies that favor pink over more masculine or non-gender colors. I know women who refuse to put their baby girls in pink. IMOHO -It is a sad day when a newborn baby girl isn't be ribboned in pale pink and white. I LOVE those slippers!

love the slippers - giant pink monster feet LOL

funny thing about pink and blue/girl and boy

my son loved pinks and yellows and (with much complaint from family) I always let him wear them

color and fashion choices are their first steps to being individual and creative.

We called our favorite aunt the "pink aunt" because she loved it so. Her entire house was pink inside and out, even to the telephone, bedsheets, curtains, rugs, walls. If they made pink stoves and refrigerators, she'd have had them. I do love pink myself but not so extravagantly.

Awww...I got blue slippers. Love the pink ones with the claws...

My girls have outgrown pink. They'd skin me alive if I got them something pink now...

I miss the pink days...

I hate pink (on myself), but I dress Sissy in a lot of pink and purple. She has a pair of hot pink crocs awaiting her feet to grow a size. :-)

That's cute. When Sarah was young, if it wasn't purple, she wouldn't wear it.

Those monster siippers are GREAT!!
I got my daughter some pink slippers for Christmas, but those monster ones are much better!
Pink is a great color, especially for a darling, little girl.
I hope she enjoys those new slippers!!!

I read your previous post, but Blogger won't let me in to comment.
So....
I've made those make-ahead mashed potatoes before. They taste great, and save you a lot of hassle on a day when a big meal is being prepared.
The tenderloin sounds YUMMY!!

I wish you many more scrumptious meals in 2008!!

For my granddaughter it isn't so much the color...she likes sparkles, lace, fluff, pretty, twirley....and pink and purple would make it perfect.

Judy,

I was in the Supermarket on Saturday buying all the Christmas dinner stuff. I had two carts. I was pushing one and pulling the other.
I stopped to think a minute about what I still needed and the manager came over to me and said, "Do you have a question?"
"Yes, I said, Why is it always at my house?"

I like pink a lot better now that I'm older, I use to hate it, it was too girly. I'm not a girly-girl, that's for sure, but now, I wouldn't turn down a pink cashmere sweater, or monster slippers!

I can't wear crocs. I've tried! Not comfy for me, dunno why.

The funky slippers are another story. I almost bought a pair of slippers that looked like St. Bernards, just to wig out our dogs. :)

But I refrained.

Jacque, they were bought almost three years ago by my daughter-in-law and I have no idea where she found them. Sorry.
