Old Photos from Hawaii

In the early 80's, we went to Hawaii on mr. kenju's company quota trip. I collected all kinds of souvenirs on that trip, more than I would ever need (as I am prone to do). Since I haven't been working as much lately, I decided that my time could be well-used in thinning out stuff around here, because frankly, we are drowning in paper memorabilia!

One of the items was an issue of ALOHA magazine, which contained an article about the Hawaii of yesteryear, including these photos. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. (The link is to the current on-line version of the magazine.)

Sometimes it's just the right time to clear some of the stuff we accumulated. I go through periods of this from time to time. And hmmmmmm if I look around, I think it's time again! How DOES this stuff accumulate?

Having stated that.......this photo is WAY more interesting than my pack rat stuff.

take care.

Hello, Michele sent me to say I love that old photo...and as a quilter - the flowered dress certainly looks like a batik to me!

I find it terribly hard to get rid of things like that - memories type things...do you????

They are very interesting photographs.

Decluttering is quite a tough thing to do. Inevitably it will spark memories and locate sometimes once commonplace items that now have a special meaning.

And Hello, today Michele sent me!

I love those photos. It is fun to find stuff that has not been seen for a long time.

I can't believe you admitted to "drowning in paper memorabilia" Judy.
I am slowly catching up with all the folk on my blogroll after being away AGAIN.

We are drowning in stuff even without travelling to Hawaii! I think that the travel part is pretty good:-)

From Michele's this trip!

If you post about the thins yo are thinning out, it will be a way of keeping them forever. Just in a lot less space. Besides, you have the most interesting memorabilia.

As we are thinking of moving house in the new year, I am kind of going through my stuff. I have found lost magazines and like to flip through those. I know I will eventually discard them.

I like the pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I am so glad to be here from Michele's after so long!

You should put the stuff you are getting rid of on Ebay.

Or better yet, have a blog yardsale!

This post has me longing for a Hawaiian vacation.
We took our kids there about ten years ago.
I'm more than ready to go back!!
Good luck thinning out all your stuff. I'm sure you're finding it difficult to throw anything away.

My goodness, Judy. You have got stuff from EVERYWHERE? Did you remember why you saved this magazine? Sure you did. I guess.

Please, allow me to echo star who wrote, "you have the most interesting memorabilia." It is true, you really do.

What beautiful pictures. Again, a post that makes me smile. Thank-you!

Although I could say "Michele sent me." I won't. Oh wait, I just did. *sigh*
