Calling All Carol Burnett Fans

I heard an announcement on our public TV station, UNCTV, that tonight - Monday, November 5th at 9pm, they have a program about Carol Burnett and her long running show, which I miss with all my heart. I may have to switch back and forth between this and Dancing with the Stars, but I am sure that Carol will command more of my attention.

If you live in an area that will receive this program, I heartily recommend that you watch. Those who loved Carol and those who don't know Carol are in for a belly-laughing treat, if they show clips from her old show.

Oh wow, thanks for this... I loved the Carol Burnett Show! Watching Harvey Korman and Tim Conway try to crack up each other was priceless!

Oh, thanks for the heads up on this. I'll look to see if it's on here. That show was absolutely the best. What a combination of people. My favorite is her "Gone With the Wind" episode.

I agree with Beverly, The Gone With The Wind skit was the funniest show ever presented on TV.

They say that when Carol appeared wearing the drapes with the rod still attached,it was the longest laugh ever recorded.

Second was when Tim Conway was the dentist and he kept sticking himself with the Novacaine needle.

I do miss those variety shows like Carol and Dean Martin. They were great fun.........

Did I imagine it or did she do some programmes with Julie Andrews?

I can't tell you how much I always LOVED Carol Burnette! I have laughed more time than I can remember thinking about some of the shows and skits she did.
I plan to look for this and thanks for telling us about it!

I have this marked on my calender Judy! In fact, I spoke with The Welches---Ken & Mitzie, the other day...And they are on the show, talking about Carol's beginning's....BACK IN THE DAY: Kenny was writing my Nightclub Act and he was writing Carol's at the same time....we used to either follow each other or precede each other....this was Waaaaay before any of her great success---but it was the beginning with that nightclub act, and was on the way, right there on West 74th Street...

It is so sad that THAT kind of show---Variety/Comedy, IS no more. The Networks aren't even interested in it at all! I wonder if they even care that there are a whole generation of people who would LOVE to see this kind of show, again....?
I look forward to watching this show tonight--Ken & Mitzie said it is very very good!.

I watched that show with my parents, just WAITING for Harvey Korman to crack up. Was sad when they stopped making episodes.

I used to love her! She & her cast would get so tickled they couldn't go on with their lines ;D

Remember her trademark "tug on the ear?"

P.S. I agree w/others here: That Gone With The Wind episode was a hoot! I loved it when she pulled the curtains off the window and wore them as a ballgown, curtain rod and all :D

The Evil Twin really loved her show. I think I was a bit "too young" to really get it when it aired. I'll have to check in my TV guide. Thanks for the heads up.

How is it, that for all of the places you and I run into each other in this blogosphere, (iow, for all that we have in common) we are not linked to each other yet?

That changes for me today, Kenju. It has been too long for crying out loud. I mean obviously, we both have fabulous taste... ;-) You are going immediately on my google reader and my blogroll on the kinnicchick blog. Way. Past. Due.

(anyone who is a Carol Burnett fan AND a fellow DWTS addict besides is a hero in my book...)

I agree with you that her show is missed.
She and her costars were so funny!!
There are some entertainers like Carol Burnett and Johnny Carson who just cannot be adequately replaced. They are remarkable, and people remember them for many years because nobody tops them.

I loved The Carol Burnett Show! I was still a kid when it went off the air, but I remember harvey Korman cracking up at anything Tim Conway did.

Judy, I did just what you did, I switched from "Dancing" to "Carol" and finally I just stopped switching.

It was a joy to see such a great performer.

Loved the entire show, found it interesting when someone pointed out that Carol was the first female to MC a comedy show.

She and her gang were special
