Quotes of Note and Happy Birthday!

My baby turns 36 on Thursday! Happy Birthday, my sweet child - who's easily bored but always curious about the world!

I may be a despicable person, but when Truth speaks through me I am invincible.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948)

The most futile thing in this world is any attempt, perhaps, at exact definition of character. All individuals are a bundle of contradictions --none more so than the most capable.

Theodore Dreiser, author (1871-1945)

Curiosity is what keeps me going. I'm never bored, but I'm usually tired.

Happy birthday!!! How wonderful to be 36 years old and have young parents. I had my last boy when I was 36, and he's only 2... long way to go!

Your quote by Ghandi reminded me of a touching story I heard about him once. He was truly one of modern times' most inspiring men, but he was not without his frailties. As spiritual spokesman for his people, it was imperative that he be keenly aware of the poor, so he was always shoeless. Also without a car, he walked everywhere he went, and this left him with ridiculously huge callouses on his feet. He was also a strict vegetarian, but because of the era in which he lived, much was still not known about nutrition, therefore his diet of fruits and vegetable was seriously lacking in calcium, so he was always in danger of breaking a bone in the most innocuous of ways. Also because of this diet, and because personal hygiene was not of utmost importance to him, those who met him face-to-face often were shocked at the incredibly awful smell of his breath.

This is why Ghandi was known as the

super calloused fragile mystic hexed with halitosis.

I hope you smiled. :)
