Some of you have asked to see my wedding photos, and this is nearly the only good one we have, as our photographer (and I use the term loosely), left a lot to be desired. The color has changed over the years and it was not good to begin with.

I could never open my eyes in the sunshine, and that day was no exception. The weather was lovely; hot, but not too hot, and low humidity.

I made my heavy lace dress and my hat too. It was crusted with seed pearls around the crown. You can read about our wedding and see another photo here.

The trip to the hospital tonight was pleasant. Mr. kenju has a new roommate, and he is a perfectly lovely gentleman of 76, who suffered a heart attack about 2 weeks ago. He is jovial, grateful to be alive and an interesting conversationalist. We all talked before my daughter and I left, and as we left, he and mr. kenju were chatting happily, trading histories and "war stories", as we used to say. Mr. kenju may not admit it, but he was lonely after we left each night at 8pm, and now he has someone with whom to share - and I am surely glad about that. The roomie announced that he was a sound sleeper and would not mind if mr. kenju snored (he will) or talked in his sleep. In our 43 years together, I have only heard him talk in his sleep once, so I hope he won't start now.....LOL

Beautiful wedding picture! I can't believe you made your dress... I'm impressed!

So glad that Mr. Kenju has a pleasant roommate. Hopefully, it'll make the times you're not there easier for him.

:)
Michele sent me tonight...

I can see the future in both of your faces, and it is (and ultimately was) bright.

Isn't it funny how we make connections with complete strangers at turning points in our lives? I've watched my dad have similar experiences with his hospital roomies as well. It's heartening that our ability to reach out, and to be reached out to, remains strong even when we find ourselves challenged by life.

I love it! It is so 60's. The Jackie O pillbox hat veil. I can't believe you made the dress. What a smashingly handsome couple! I hope Michele comes and looks.

I absolutely LOVE that photograph! It reminds me of my mom's wedding pictures. I believe she's about your age, if not a touch older, if forced to guess.

What a beautiful couple! And you made your dress... you show us a little surprise each day... Oh Judy, I am reading all your past posts. Glad Mr. Kenju is getting the best treatment and that he has a nice roommate! He might get the guy interested in blogging! :-)

I know how frustrating these times can be. My husband John, had a diabetic coma and when he came out of it was so impatient and so frightened that although he put up a good front for others, he let his anger out at me. It was most difficult and I know he was not himself.

I have been lurking and reading and I hope you will try to find the time to relax a little and to find ways to reduce your stress. Even as I write this, I know of this is trulyimpossible.

What a beautiful couple you are Judy. Your dress is lovely...nice job.

Glad to see Mr.Kenju is enjoying his roommate....that's pretty important when you have to be with them every day. That always made a big difference to my mother when she had to be in the hospital. Having a friendly roommate was really important to her....to us all really. Take care...many hugs to you...

What a beautiful couple!

You know, with a little work in Photoshop (or similar pgm) the color can be restored.

Glad Mr. Kenju has a roomie he is enjoying. :)

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...

Hopefully Mr. Kenju's roommate will keep him in high spirits and take some pressure off of you. I suspect with the progress Mr. Kenju is making that by the time he comes home he'll be much better and able to cope with any residual affects.

Schedule yourself some "me" time after he comes home. It may seem impossible, but when you set it up, you'll be surprised with how easy everything will flow.

In the meantime, I will continue to pray for his continued recovery and your continued patience! Much love!
