HITABA, a Photo and a quote

This photo of the Sydney Opera House is one of many from my younger daughter's trip to Australia last month. I will be showing them to you soon.

***********

The local blogger's group - Highly Irresistible Triangle Area Blogger's Association - or HITABA for short - met Friday for a quick lunch at Moe's and pedicures afterward. Only three were able to come, a fourth was stuck at work. It was FUN! If you have never had a pedicure, you really ought to treat yourself to at least one. I predict if you do it once, you will do it again! I was going to get green polish on my toenails, but that salon didn't have the color I wanted. Bummer. I hope the next time I go, I'll be brave enough to consider green. It will be a good way to gross out my daughters......lol. ("Maaaah-mmmm, you're nearly 70! Act your age!")

We are hoping to rope in a few more local people before the next lunch - so if you are a Triangle Area Blogger and you want to be included in the plans - let me know - and I'll pass on the info to Tiff, our glorious leader.

The only person you should ever compete with is yourself. You can't hope for a fairer match.

Edit! I hope no one calls me tonight during the last ever episode of the Sopranos! I can't wait to see what happens - and I don't want it to end.

How much fun. . . pedicures and green polish. That would not only flip out my kids, but also my husband. I guess that means I will have to try it.

A local blogging group is a great idea. Wish we had one here. Maybe when I get back, I will look into the possibilities of starting one here.

I am taking a few minutes out from packing for NYC to read my favorite folks blogs.

I'm meeting up with some bloggers in the Bay Area soon...I should suggest pedicures!

Love the quote. Perfect. And so true.

Michele sent me...hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

That quote reminds me of something the GREAT Director Billy Wilder said: "You are as good as the BEST thing you've ever done.."...He said this when asked by some Producers in the Commisary, what his opinion was of a Director who had not produced any "hits" recently....I LOVE this quote and I love the one you have at the bottom of this post too, Judy.
GREAT picture of that Amazing Sydney Opera House...somewhat like our Disney Complex here in L.A. Well....the same Architect...so, of course...What an artist Gehry is...WOW!
I LOVE that you have a special blogger group that meets, Judy....I assume they are all in somewhat the same area....Tri....Would that be Virinia/Norh Carolina...and what?
Lovely idea!
How do you post so much and go everywj=here you do and comment....? You are amazing....! AND, you run a business as well as having a husband and children and grandchildren...Are there 30 hours in your day, instead of 24? (LOL)
I think it is wonderful and admire you so much Judy!
And tell your children that there is no rule book about what anyone can or should do at 70 or older....The rule is: "Do Wahatever Makes You Happy"....End of story! (lol)

Sounds great, Judy! I started being good to myself when I separated from my husband of 28 yrs. The upshot was I quit biting my nails when I started getting them done. And I discovered that a pedicure and facial is the ultimate decadence!

I love the quote -- but I'm losing! lol sigh

The"Triangle Area" refers to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and of course, all the smaller towns in the whole 3-4 country area.

Nope, not had a pedicure yet. My sister tried to talk me into it a few years ago, but no go. I don't get off on manicures, either -- it's just not my sort of pampering.

I'm here from Michele today. Can't wait to see more vacation pictures!

I LOVE pedicures! In fact, I'm planning to get one this week. I found a place in town that does a mini one for $20. It still lasts about 30-40 minutes.

The blogging group sounds fun!

Michele sent me to visit today!

Nope, I did the pedicure thing once and never again....did not like it. Manicure, OK. I only know of 3 bloggers around me...one got me started blogging the other is not approachable....a little snooty because she is "published."

I would love to be part of HITABA, but I don't think there is enough headroom in the travel budget.

As for Australia - it's already on the list of places to visit before I die.

I think it's safe to say Judy that I'll never have a pedicure. Way too metrosexual for me!

I plan on eventually going to a HITABA meeting but it'll have to be a day I take off from work. What with the buses at UNC there's no way I can go to lunch and get back to work after. I'm going to wait for Jen to be there tho. I suspect she's a pill!
