The Alpha Gardenia + a Quote

I'd love it if you could catch a whiff of the aroma! Too bad we don't have "smell-a-vision" here in Blogland. There are now at least 25 of them open on the bush and 9 on my kitchen counter in a vase. Heaven!

............................

It's like, at the end, there's this surprise quiz: Am I proud of me? I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth what I paid?

Interesting quote, Judy. I love the gardenias. Dillard's has the best potpourri with the gardenia fragrance (if you don't have the real thing.)

Judy,

As I was growing up, my mother had a gardenia for a house plant. That thing bloomed all year long and filled the house with its heavenly perfume. I can never smell a gardenia without reliving some of those boyhood times.

I have never owned those, but I have wiffed them on occasion. You are so lucky because they are what you say.

I love this time of year for that very reason -- gardenia blooms! I have one near a flower bed that I'm redoing, so while I'm on my knees pulling at stubborn weeds, I get the wonderful scent of gardenia. Makes every job a little nicer.

i feel deprived - I've never had a gardenia. the very name gives off an air of mystery and romance. Billie Holiday!

Our neighbors have the gardenia bushes and I noticed they were starting to bloom. I am hoping they will let me dig up one of the small ones just behind their fence in the easement to take to the new house.

The first time I ever saw a real gardenia was decades ago and it was in a cocktail called a Scorpian...a little too sweet for my tastes.

That last quote stops one dead in their tracks...

Beautiful gardenia Judy. They have been my favorite since I was a child. I have a small gardenia bush in our backyard and also about 8 of the larger gardenia bushes. See you soon!

I absolutely love gardenias, and they seem to do so much better out here than the ones we planted in bug-infested Florida. :)

Great quote.
Love Bach.

Someone brought in ONE gardenia bloom to work, and placed it in the ladies' room. It perfumed the atmosphere most lusciously for days.

Total yum.

I can only imagine the glorious fragrance.
I'm sure the ones on your counter look lovely.
I'm not sure I want smell-a-vision. I'm afraid of what hitonious odors some might inflict on me.
