Sixty-eight Years Ago Today...

E. Marshall was my aunt. I found this small New Testament in her home after she died. You can enlarge it if you want to read the fine print.

That's neat. I've known of the Pocket Testament League for years.

What a lovely New Testament treasure. The pictures in your previous post? I am amazed at the patience of your granddaughter with making all of the little snowflakes (I hope that is what they are)around the border.

What a wonderful thing to have Judy...These kinds of Memorabelia enrich one's histor so much...Lord, 1939! I've never heard of the Pocket Testement League, but it has to be a really neat thing to be able to carry a pocket sized Bible!

That is a good commitment. To vow to read anything at least once a day is a good commitment.... it keeps those brain gears greased and turning.

What a great piece of family history to keep.

Does the Pocket Testament League still exist?

That's such a treasure you have... I like to think that she stick to the promise she made. :-)

Yes, I have heard of the PTL. In fact, just about everybody in my home church had one of those at one time. (the 50s) I don't know what happened to mine. That's a great piece of memorabilia and nostalgia you have there. That surely must go into an acid free plastic container. Soon! Thanks for showing it.

That's amazing! My family is sorting through all sorts of family memorabilia these days and I have inherited a family Bible that my grandmother nearly threw out because it was from my grandfather's side of the family. It's in horrible shape, but it was a family learning bible, with devotionals in the text so you could teach your family if you couldn't get to church.

Luckily, I've found a man in Apex willing to rebind it.
