The Master Crayola Artist Don Marco was born in Northern Minnesota in the late 1920's. His interest in art was evident even before starting school. As a young adult in the Army Air Corp, he began his life's career in Air Traffic Control, which continued until his retirement from Honolulu International Airport in 1973. Much of his spare time was spent as a professional artist. Before retirement, Don started developing a technique to create fine art, using Crayola Crayons.

He must have had the big box with lots of crayons....I always got the 12 color one when I was a kid. I had a friend who used to make modern art (style) with melted crayons...really cool...

WOW! Judy, I'm amazed that this can be done with crayons. They really are incredible.
They are beautiful. I'd like to know what paper / board / medium he uses, because wax crayon on paper is very grainy.
I wonder what would happen if one used crayon on board, and then warmed it.

Your work is beautiful. I love to watch my daughter (she's 8) tell stories with crayon. To think that such storytelling can become works of art like these!

Our local paper wrote up a convict who did art with crayon and it was amazing, but nothing like this. Talk about talent, there it is, in action.

There used to be a TV show where the fellow would use toilet paper and make a painting in minutes.
I remember when I was a child I loved using crayons - As Kay and Joy said, if I did it today I would find it relaxing.
Maybe I'll buy myself a box and see what happens. ;-)
