Like Mother ~ Like Daughter?

The top painting was done by my older daughter when she was about 10-11 years old, in 1979-80. The lower painting was done by her daughter, who is 11, this year. I think they both have promise! Isn't it interesting how they seemed to favor the same color schemes? Perhaps it's genetic!

The best part is that I was the recipient of both paintings!

love them! I love children's paintings and I happen to love these colour schemes too....

art is such a reflection of our state of mind, don't you think? When I look at the two paintings, I see two girls who appear to be happy and content!!

There's nothing quite like a gallery of family orginal masterpieces. All quite priceless.

Beautiful. Can't wait til my son produces art work like this! He's 3, so we are scribbling for now. Though he draws a mean circle!

Thanks for visiting me, Judy!

Aww... how sweet that you saved your daughter's drawings and can now compare them to your granddaughter's. And blue and green are my favorite colors. I used them in my wedding, along with lilac, and those three colors are all over my dining room!

I love 'em -- I'd love to see them framed and hanging near each other -- the color schemes are the same, and wouldn't that make for a conversation piece?

Don't you just love the paintings of our children and grand children. I do too.

I love those paintings. Those legs in the first painting could be mine. LOL

They are both attractive but your daughter's I would frame and hang - it is so appealing. Strange about the colours

I love looking at Jenny's childhood artistry. When she was about 3 she did a drawing of Speedy Gonzales that was uncanny. Its great the colors of your daughter's picture have remained bright!

The fact that you have your daughter's painting where you can find it and display it is what amazes me! Amazing!

Great paintings! And wow, they do seem to have the same choice in color schemes!
I've always found genetics fascinating, especially where it shows up in a child's mannerisms. My youngest daughter has many of the same facial expressions as her Uncle, yet she's only seen him briefly, about twice in her entire life.

I think it's great that you've saved your daughter's paintings. I still have a lot of my girls artwork and I don't think I'll ever part with it.
