Wedding Flowers

This is the wedding I delivered at 2pm today. Nearly all black magic roses, with a few other red and white flowers mixed into the arrangements. The ceremony was held on the terrace of a local country club, overlooking the golf course. This bride was extremely lucky with the weather today - it was 70+*.
For the reception, everyone moved indoors, including the ceremony flowers. They were moved to the buffet tables and placed atop the pedestals there. I used red ginger, snapdragons, hydrangea, alstroemeria, stock, gerbera daisies, vendela roses, bells of Ireland, casablanca lilies, ruscus, ivy and cleyera. Black magic roses have been the most popular red rose for weddings over the last several years.

Edit: you guys are so nice. If I need an ego-boost, I will just come here and post some flowers, since you leave such nice comments for me! I really appreciate all the nice things you say about the arrangements, but mostly, I want to share the beauty with you.

Lovely red roses, and such a beautiful arrangement! My son's getting married in October... bridemaids are wearing chocolate brown.... bride is agonising over what flowers to have in the boquets... any hints?

I love these roses. It seems that the bouquets are being bound tightly and the flowers all pushed together these days. I guess it dates me, but the popular think back when I got married was the basket for the bridesmaid and the large cascading flower bouquet for the bride. I had five gardenias surrounded with white roses and babies breath and a few scattered peach and yellow baby roses as well. Three of the gardenias came out of the bouquet to make a corsage later.

Those are gorgeous roses! Black magic, huh? I might have to put in a request with the hubby sometime.

The bride must've been very pleased with your work.

GORGEOUS! I personally had blue curiosas, bluebirds, and vendela roses in my bouquet. I think there were some anna roses and white majolika thrown in there somewhere too. Here via Michele!

Michele sent me and I'm glad. I love flowers. I try to buy some for myself regularly but run out of fresh ideas to try. I'll have to check back and see what you do and give the ol' college try at home.

Lovely Lovely arrangements, Judy! I love those Roses...they are truly "deep" aren't they?

I'm sorry you are having signing in problems and comment signing in problems, too...But glad to know I am not alone! I find it frustrating too, because of the time it takes.....It just feels so arbitrary, too! It isn't on ALL of them, but they are Blogger people...Go Figure!

They are truly beautiful and I expect you don't have the silly superstition about red and white flowers. I think it stemmed from WW1 - blood and bandages. When I had my first baby I was sent some in hospital and gave them to the sister who didn't have silly superstitions but with my first baby I wan't taking any chances.
