This is an example of some of the more fun stuff I get to do with flowers! These mannequins were used as table decor for an event called "A Taste of Raleigh". It is a fundraiser for a charity, and features many restaurants and caterers, who showcase their more popular foods. A local caterer hired me to decorate their tables, using their wire-frame mannequins. They had decided to do an Asian menu, so I used Chinese hats and paper fans, along with bamboo. I am sorry that I don't have a full-length photo. The mannequins wore only decorated hats, but there were large centerpieces on the table by their feet.

I love doing wedding flowers, but the creativity is limited somewhat by the bride's taste and budget. In doing events like this, I can do things I'd never be able to do for a wedding - and it is great fun!

To clarify: The caterer had bought the mannequins. I used them 3 times at different parties; one was a sweet sixteen party for a girl from Texas. The head was covered in 98 yellow roses, and then wore the girl's leather cowboy hat. The other time was for a wedding show, and the mannequins wore flowered heads, and carried nosegay bouquets.

Really clever....when you wrote mannequins I kind of had a different image; it takes a bit for images to load with dial up....thank goodness I was worng. You are so very talented.

Very unique arrangement! Was using the mannequins your idea, or the caterer's?

You have a job that I envy. I love working with plants and had I not gone into public service I might just be doing something with flowers! The event must have been great with such a creative backdrop.

Judy,
If you need a mannequin and the caterer forgot to bring one you can always run downtown to the porn shop and get one of those blow up gals.

What fun!
I promise if I ever have a big party you're so doing the flowers, and you get to do whatever you want. Cuz I like creativity, and daisies, can I have daisies please?

Now that work is starting to resemble something one would put on display at an art museum.

That is very, very clever. And the yellow roses with a cowboy hat... what a great idea for a Texas girl's birthday. That must have been some party!

Neat arrangements and I love the wire frame mannequins. They reminded me of a tea set my daughter sculpted from wire. It was amazing and won a spot in our local tut-ee-tut art gallery for a whole summer.

You have an amazing job.
